A pair of platinum hair men have become a household name among the online music community thanks to their high-profile appearances in the “Platinum Rules” video series.
In the video series, the “Gold” hair men (aka Adam Baldwin and Robert “Rob” Russell) use a stylus to paint their faces and mouths with gold paint to make their names and likenesses appear on a “platinum wall.”
The two “Platinums” then sit on the gold wall in front of other “Golders,” a line that includes the platinum hairmen and platinum rule star.
“The platinum rule is when you can make a rule that no one else can make,” Baldwin said in an interview with Billboard in July.
“It’s just a rule.”
The “Gold Rules” YouTube channel has more than 6 million subscribers.
In November, Baldwin appeared on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” and “Jimmy Kimmel Live!”
The “Platinums” are part of a new trend that has been on the rise recently.
The trend began when the platinum rule became an online phenomenon.
“It was like, this is a trend,” Baldwin told Billboard.
“A lot of people thought, this isn’t real.
I mean, this whole platinum rule thing is just a trend.”
The platinum rules, which Baldwin created, were first posted to YouTube in August of this year.
A new series called “Platoons” began streaming on YouTube on September 1.
“I was just so excited to get on that, to be in that place and just see the reaction,” Baldwin explained.
“I mean, I’m like, man, I want to make a lot of money.
I’m a platinum hair man.”
The videos were met with a huge response, with people talking about their favorite people, places, and things.
Baldwin, who is a member of the “Top 50 YouTube Creators” list, says that when he first saw the platinum rules he was like: “Wow, what an amazing thing to be able to do.”
“I had to put my hair up,” he said.
“And I had to get rid of my makeup.”
But when he was done, Baldwin was “shocked and confused” by how much people liked them.
“That’s the first time that’s ever happened to me,” he explained.
“But then I started to think: ‘Man, maybe I can do that for myself?'”
“Now, I have a way of looking at people and seeing how they look and the way they’re talking to me and the things they want from me,” the “gold” hair man said.
